New 'Tekken 8' Story Trailer Features 'Succession's Brian Cox

Offering an interesting recap of the franchise’s story.

Gaming

Following the release of an official story trailer, Bandai Namco Entertainment has now returned to share a recap of the “Story So Far” ahead of the release of Tekken 8. The latest story trailer serves as a recap for the Tekken game franchise and interestingly stars Brian Cox.

The classically trained Shakespearean Scottish actor and Succession star lends his cinematic narration to bring us up to speed with all the happenings around the King of Iron Fist Tournament. The events of Tekken 8 take place nearly six months after Tekken 7 with a focus on the final confrontation between father and son Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama. With Jin set on killing his father to end the chaos from their lineage with no regard for his own life.

It is interesting to note that Guinness World Records recognizes the Tekken franchise as having the longest-running narrative in video game history.

Tekken 8 is set to release for Sony PlayStation 5, Microsoft Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam January 26 with 32 playable characters at launch.
